An Innovative Ad Campaign!

The picture shows an innovative ad campaign by, TIMES OF INDIA. During its launch of Chennai Edition. An Kolam(Rangoli) in wording's say 'VANAKKAM CHENNAI(Hello Chennai), TIMES OF INDIA'. It obviously attracts people surprisingly, when coming out of their house in early morning.
Great Idea by TOI!
Saw these kind of kolam's in front of many houses around areas like Anna Nagar, nungambakkam, adyar and beasant nagar.

Missing SAB TV!

The Grand Cricket festival has started and it’s only a half treat for Chennai Cricket fans. Already, due to CAS (Conditional access System), 75% of Chennai urban people miss the action, by not watching through main broadcasters SONY MAX. It can be only watched through SET TOP BOX.
Now that SAB TV which is also a subsidy of SONY INDIA, some Matches which are played in same day is been telecasted in this channel, and is now been missing from Cable frequencies in Chennai since few days. SAB TV is actually a FTA (Free to Air) Channel, which was coming in normal cable connection, now it is missing.
I was shocked to find that SAB is also missing from my SET TOP BOX channel list. The reason is ‘?’.
I heard SAB will also be used to telecast matches with regional language commentaries from Super 8 rounds.
I tried to call SCV (main cable connection provider in Chennai and also a subsidy of SUN TV), the phone bell was just ringing!

Update News: After my post, Yesterday during India Match, SAB tv was back on the normal cable. But still unavailable on SET TOP BOX. Where in STB also SAB tv used to come.

Air Deccan's, SALEM SERVICE

That was great joy and nearly a dream come true moment for Salem people, when air deccan officials anounced on SALEM-CHENNAI air service. This turned into a disappointment in just 3 months, when some sources said, that the airline is reluctant now.
15 to 16 years had passed after the construction of commercial airport in Salem and still no operations.
People were excited and was curious on the commencement of service, after the reports of air deccan's service..but now it had turned onto a great disappointment.
Air deccan claims that, 'it has asked solid commitment from the trade and industry community of Salem, Namakkal and Dharmapuri districts, to ensure a minimum of 25 tickets both ways and they did not give any answer.' Air deccan added that 'locals did not had enthusiasm to fly. '( SOURCE:THE HINDU report, ) Whatever it is, but the truth was many businessmen from salem and namakkal regions wer waiting for this service and would have used it to the maximum.

Actually, Air deccan's reputation to other destination is also not good.. like CANCELLATION of FLIGHTS..POOR SERVICE.. PATHETIC AIRCRAFT CONDITION.. of all these problems, blaming on Salem peoples enthusiastic levels is not fair on air deccans part. Already, air deccan is also facing some financial drawbacks in recent days and expected to increased in coming months.
Anyways.. in future air deccan should atleast check the feasible conditions of their potency, before giving the word for starting services for new destination. Try not to disappoint some other city and its citizens like this.

Super Police!!

Hyundai motors india today donated 100 Hyundai accent crdi cars to chennai city police. The L&O department will receive about 75cars and CCTP(Chennai City Traffic Police) will receive 25 cars. By getting this 82bhp car, CHENNAI POLICE are the first and only police department in the Whole India and as well as Sub-continent to drive the Fastest police cars.

From now in chennai city, if any person calls to 100 and reports, the call will be received by the patrolling car which is in your area! great eh!
The colour tone is imitating the NYPD police cars. Anyway look's Cool. Its good that Hyundai came out in such a sponsorship and shown that, it is a MNC with Public interest. Unlike FORD, TOYOTA, which is also in INDIA, but no contribution so far, even being the main stream police car makers in many countries.
Hats off to hyundai!

Man i have to be careful in Chennai roads hereafter. All these days i was confident that, the COPS with their lousy cars cant catch my 85bhp esteem. So all guys its time for us to fold our tails!!

FM (Fast growing Media)

Chennai's FM is increasing with more stations Day by Day.
Indiatimes's- RADIO MIRCHI
SUNTV's- Suryan FM
Star's- Radio City
Daily thanthi's- Hello FM
Reliance's Big FM
So the Number has increased to 5 among the private stations, excluding the two government FM stations
FM Rainbow and
FM Gold
FM after the commencement of RADIO MIRCHI and SURYAN FM on 2003 had changed the Tamil radio listeners to a different experience.
So the AIR WAR has Started!

Newly launched BIG FM giving a very good mixture of Old and New movie songs, which tries to make its Listeners, stick the same frequency. Actually Reliance has a plans to make its FM station accessible all over the tamilnadu with same frequency!
Apart from this, two months old RADIO CITY giving a good competition to RADIO MIRCHI, on attracting the Youth Ears.
Suryan FM among these cannot be categorized. Because, whenever I tune up to Suryan FM, I can only listen the conversation between the RJ's and Callers. Even the RJ's in Suryan seems to be unfriendly! And they won't forget to utter this slogan to Each caller saying, 'Unga Radio volume reduce pannunga!' If they fail to reduce the volume, the caller is forcedly been disconnected. Suryan has its broadcast also in Coimbatore and tirunelveli, there too the same agenda follows.
Radio mirchi had a massive opening, but later, coz of too many commercials, it too lost some of its listeners. Radio city and Radio mirchi both using the same kind of flavour. Their main target is Youth. Suchitra, ajay, balaji in radio mirchi and Nandu in Radio city are the Notable Rj's. They actually give a differen experience to the listeners. Both channels play western music during saturdays, which actually compensates those who miss Disco theques on that weekend!
RADIO ONE, RED FM also gonna HIT Chennai frequency very soon! Its a Grand treat for Radio listeners!
Other than this WORLD SPACE SATELLITE RADIO plays its own part with its listeners all over the globe!

And the government FM's--->No Comments!
